  4. Open Forum

Comments from Ted Parge, Office of Institutional Advancement

The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for connecting IMSA with the external world - businesses, alumni, corporations, etc. They hope to work with the IAA to build networks of individuals and raise money for IMSA. They also hope to host more events like the Open House (that afternoon) that benefit both IMSA and the Alumni. Ted mentioned an article in the Wall Street Journal last week and an editorial in the Chicago Tribune on June 16. He thanked Chris Morkin for her work in helping organize the day's activities, as well as all of us for our contributions and our attendance. He offered his office's assistance with anything we needed.

The floor was opened for project ideas for the 1995–96 year
    1. Coordinating with the CCCD to track of who's studied what, where, and what they're doing now—to help current students make college and major choices
    2. Cooperating with Student & Parents' Councils
    3. Finding one source for Alumni Contact information changes to be reported and stored, to be shared between alumni and IMSA
    4. Serve as a resource for recruiting new students and helping parents and students get their questions/concerns answered
    5. Regional Organizations and Organizing social events by region - more than just visits to IMSA. Feel free to contact Jodi or IMSA to get lists of people in an area, until the information is accessible to everyone
    6. IMSA is a member of C.A.S.E. (an organization that helps colleges and related organizations with strategies for raising money) IAA would like to have a representative participate along with the people in the IMSA Fund office
