Meeting was called to order at 20:08 CST
Intersession update
16/36 response rate
Results of survey sent out separately
Pooja will create a summary for posting on the website
Giving update
Carolyn will be attempting to revive the class agent program
Paul suggested that good choices might be those who helped out with reunions
Should track IPAAC giving as well as IAA cabinet
IAA.org status
Neal noted that the migration of the website to a new server should be done soon, perhaps as early as next weekend
Proposal to amend bylaws to allow non-grad officers
Prompted by discussion on =alumni and a non-grad's blog
Point was raised that the President is the spokesperson for the organization and as such, it might be inappropriate for a non-grad to hold that position.
Ultimately, no action was taken on the issue
Proposal to charter the IAA Medical Association
Paul proposed that the Medical Association be given provisional club status
Sendhil seconded
Passed by unanimous voice vote
Will need a mailing list -- Sendhil will contact Jim Browne to do this
Reunion weekend
We now have coordinators for all reunion weekends
An idea was floated to have a pre-reunion event for all classes under the IAA banner, possibly at a bowling alley.
Regional club support status
There was extensive discussion on this topic. It was noted that there is almost no activity in the regional and topical clubs as they stand now, and that we should reconsider what is involved in running a regional club and what resources we can provide them.
We need to have another discussion at next meeting about this topic, with an eye toward putting together revisions to the bylaws/constitution at the following meeting if there are to be any.
Plone tutorial is cancelled in favor of sending Neal email with questions users may have.
Announcements:
Eric is willing to chair elections this year if no one else will do it, but would like to find someone to hand it off to. If you know of anyone, contact Eric.
9 March is IMSA faculty/staff appreciation reception. Carolyn noted that if the IAA wanted to make a donation, we need to do it by end of February. It was decided that we did, and that Neal will get a $100 gift certificate to Geneva Commons to donate.
Meeting was adjourned at 2155 CST.
