b. Approval of Thank You Letter to the State of IL

Paul moved to accept the text of the letter

TODOs: Neal, Kevin, and Paul need to make the "instructions" letter the landing page for the thank you letter, add a note on the comment submission form that email addresses will not appear on the public website, decide on a maximum size for the input fields and add that to the submission form labels, and rearrange the display so that the person's name and class are displayed first.

Items for Discussion

a. NYC Alum Event Recap
Kevin gave Matt U's report on the NYC event. Bottom line: it went very well and he and Sendhil are looking forward to doing another one.

Carolyn noted that in the future, a space like a private room would be better for allowing VIPs to address the entire group.

b. Planning for the Chicago Alum Event

Sidenote: San Francisco event will likely be held on 27 January 2007. Chicago event will be on 13 January (Saturday after intersession).

TODO: Paul will see if evite can be IMSA-branded for coordinating these events.

c. Alumni Giving Update
The Cabinet is at 100% on giving!
Total giving this fiscal year is over $14K.
Also, we beat the fund board and board of trustees to 100%. We are so cool.

d. New Student Information Session Volunteers
Six regional information sessions have already happened. Julie is looking for volunteers for upcoming preview days:

2006-12-13 Springfield
2006-12-14 Peoria
2007-01-09 Chicago Heights
2007-01-11 Palatine
Also, events that do not yet have dates in Chicago, Grayslake, Quincy, and Urbana.

Volunteers would also be welcome for preview day on 28 January 2007.

e. University Host Program Update (Mindy)
Mindy has found interested people for the university host program.

TODO: Mindy will send the names and emails of interested people to John Li, president of IMSA's student council.

f. Intersession Update
Ande will discuss with Kelly about the budget for a potential intersession-week event.
