Carolyn introduced Jenny DuMont. She's temporarily joining the Advancement team as the alumni program assistant so she can cover while Carolyn is on maternity leave.

The meeting was called to order at 8:07 P.M. Central Time.

5-year reunion

Eric Bowden let us know that the 5-year reunion has not picked a caterer yet, but all under consideration would be approximately $10/person for hot buffet with 2–3 entrees and dessert. They are talking about charging $15/head. They're considering doing a lunch event, though this may change given the conflict with other Alumni Day events.

10-year reunion budget

Neal moved to accept the budget as it stands; Kelly seconded.

Doug and Ande gave a brief rundown of the event. It will be held at Citizen, a bar in the River North area. Cost ($75) includes a four-course meal and an open bar. The budget is based on 100 attendees; we're hoping for 150. At present, they plan to send paper invites and "save the date" magnets.

The motion was carried unanimously.

Liz Gebis and Ashley Dumm are looking for a place for the Friday night unofficial event. Doug will likely return asking for a supplemental budget line for this next month.

15-year reunion

Ande spoke briefly about the 15-year reunion. She believes that it will occur. The current response is 25–30 people, approximately the same size as last year. They may do an afternoon event rather than an evening event.

IMSA20 Boston Event

Kevin said that Anjali thinks that the cost for the Boston event is around $400. Carolyn said the event was in a semi-public area at the Charles Mark hotel, which was free but occasionally had people wandering through. Turnout was around 70 people. Jennifer Spuehler, David Workman, Eric and Kim McLaren, and Gregg Sinner were all there. The raffle was a success. Kevin noted that the low door cost may have contributed substantially to its high turnout.

IMSA20 St. Louis Event

Matthew said that they are planning to charge $15 online, $20 at the door for the event. Costs will be $17.09 per-person, though they're hoping to offset the cost difference with a raffle. 6 payments so far, more confirmations via Facebook and personal contact.

Pooja noted that the original attempt to make the invite on Evite didn't work with the Paypal integration, so she created a page on the IAA site to do it.

IMSA20 Los Angeles Event

The LA events look to be about 20 people so far. Kelly proposed that we offer them $10/person. Kevin will contact Glenys to let her know.

Alumni Day Planning

General plan for alumni weekend is Friday night unofficial reunion event, Saturday annual meeting, faculty/staff tea, and LUMEN. LUMEN will go over into Sunday.

We still need an election coordinator! We need to document what we do and what needs to be done for the next cabinet. Ande will put together a first draft this week.

Matthew has put together a list of topics for Lumen. He is considering sending out information with reunion invitations. He is thinking that LUMEN will start after the Faculty/Staff Luncheon. End time is still to be determined. He will be working on determining the marketing strategy.

Announcements

The thank-you letter on the website will be publicized by the advancement office.

Neal noted that he will be leaving IMSA in a week.

Paul asked that the LinkedIn proposal be added to the next meeting's agenda.

The meeting was adjourned by unanimous voice vote at 9:32 P.M. Central time.
