The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM CDT.

Intersession

There only has been one alum who has submitted a proposal to date. Proposals are due by September 30. Heena will send out an email to people who have been identified as potentially interested tomorrow. Heena also asked if there is any flexibility in the proposal submission deadline. Carolyn promised to share that information after checking with the Principal's office.

Other Ideas

Matthew asked for suggestions of new ideas for the IAA for the 2009-2010 year. Ande suggested creating some career networking events. Amy suggested using meetup.com to organize such events. Matthew agreed that it sounded like a good potential idea that could start with Chicago because of the large alumni population. Amy suggested that perhaps the IAA could host a regular event like the one happy hour that was hosted last year. Amy also mentioned that if IAA wants to host events on meetup.com, there is a small fee associated with it. Ande suggested that fee could be supported through the miscellaneous budget line item.

UIUC-Northwestern Football Game Event

Rakesh asked about coordinating seats for the an alumni event at the UIUC-Northwestern football game in Champaign-Urbana. Carolyn suggested that the quantity of seats acquired for last year's game seemed to be sufficient. Rakesh said that he would look into ticket prices and availability.

Matthew requested a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 PM CDT. Ande moved to close the meeting. The motion was seconded by Amy.
