Candidate for At-large Member

Objective

My goals are to reconnect with IMSA and my fellow alumni, to help others reconnect and to use my skills and talents to help the alumni community.

IMSA Service

I have attended the 5 and 10 year reunions, as well as several IMSA events. In addition, I have shared my IMSA experience with students who were considering applying to attend.

Personal Statement

Since the birth of my daughter two months ago, I have realized how much I miss being in contact with people from my past. I suspect that there are many alumni like myself, who miss the friends and experiences of their IMSA days, but never seem to be able to find the time or energy to get back in touch. I would like to find more ways to get alumni involved again in the IMSA community. I think it is important to offer a variety of ways for alumni to reconnect, and they should be easy and fun. This past year I also started my own consulting business, which has allowed me to develop many skills that would serve me well as an at-large member of the Alumni Association. I think that good communication and follow-up are essential when planning events and activities. I enjoy meeting new people, and am very comfortable talking to large group and individuals. Finally, this is something that I want to do. When my daughter asks me and my husband about our IMSA days, I want to be able to talk about not only the past but the present as well.
