Candidate for At-Large Member

My name is Van Tang, IMSA class of 1995. I went to Yale University where I studied Anthropology, class of 1999. I'm finishing my Masters in Accounting from Dominican University in River Forest and am preparing to take the CPA exam. I have nine years experience primarily as a consultant in financial analysis and project office administration. I'm originally from Vietnam and came to the US as a refugee. I am interested in how business can be used to alleviate global poverty and am starting a consulting service in education. I'm running to be an At-Large Member because I was talking to my old IMSA roommate Heena Desai who is currently an at-large rep. She spoke highly of her experience as an at-large rep and made me interested in joining. I believe that the contacts and knowledge I would gain from membership on the IAA would be invaluable to my new business.
As an At-Large Member, I would be interested in helping with College, Careers, Choices and Intersession and believe that both programs provide wonderful opportunities for students to learn practical information about how they can apply themselves professionally to better their communities. I also have experience with the Joomla! content management system and would be willing to learn about the Plone CMS and help with the website. I would be willing to help with any area that needed additional coordination.
